What Studios Get Wrong When Hiring Creative Talent
Edenn TeamCONTENT TEAM

Hiring creative talent is harder than it looks from the outside. Studios that do it well tend to build strong, cohesive teams that produce great work consistently. Studios that do it poorly end up in a cycle of expensive mistakes.
Hiring for a Title Instead of a Skillset
The most common mistake studios make is searching for a job title rather than a specific set of skills and experiences. They post a role for a 'Game Designer' or a '3D Artist' and then filter applications based on how closely someone's CV matches that title.

Overweighting Previous Employer Names
There is a tendency in hiring to treat previous employer names as proxies for quality. If someone worked at a well-known studio, the assumption is that their work must be good.
